Marcy Huck | Women's Head Tennis Coach | Agnes Scott College

Marcy Huck is entering her first year as the Head Tennis Coach at Agnes Scott College. Prior to ASC, Huck served as lead assistant for the University of North Georgia men’s and women’s tennis programs for the last six years.

Huck was named the ITA Southeast Region Women’s Tennis Assistant Coach of the Year in 2019 after the women advanced to the national tournament final site for a second consecutive year, advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. She also assisted Vaishali Jorge to an ITA Cup appearance after winning the ITA Regional Tournament in singles play, finishing third in the ITA Cup.

Kent Norsworthy | Men's and Women's Head Tennis Coach | North Georgia University

Kent Norsworthy is entering his 18th season as head coach of the University of North Georgia men’s and women’s tennis programs. 

Most recently, Norsworthy Wilson ITA Women’s Coach of the Year for the Southeast Region after leading the Nighthawks to a 15-win season and a fifth consecutive NCAA appearance in 2021. He led both the men and women to the NCAA Tournament in 2021 and 2022. In 2021 the men hosted the Southeast Regional for the first time in program history, the men’s team advanced to the regional final, while the women’s team made the semifinal round.

On the women’s side in 2019, the Nighthawks advanced through the regional round and advanced all the way to the Elite Eight after finishing as PBC Tournament Runners-Up for the first time in program history. The 2019 team saw the first ITA Regional Singles Champion in program history (Vaishali Jorge) and an ITA All-American (Adrienne Bofinger).

Rolando Vargas | Men's Head Tennis Coach | Troy University

After leading Troy to the Sun Belt Conference semifinals and a final No. 8 ranking in the ITA Southern Region, Roland Vargas returns to Troy for his fourth season leading his alma mater after winning four national championships at the NAIA level.
 
In 2020-21, Vargas led the Trojans to a 20-4 record and the No. 2 seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament following a 3-2 league record against an abbreviated conference schedule due to COVID-19. The Trojans reached as high as No. 60 in the ITA national rankings during the season, which saw Troy win 16 of its first 17 matches in the spring.
 
Carles Anton was named the Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year in addition to claiming All-Sun Belt Second Team honors after posting a 16-3 record in singles; in two years, Anton is 35-6 in singles the last two seasons, including a 30-4 mark in dual matches and 31-5 in doubles.

John Browning | Men's Head Coach | Emory University

John Browning is the fourth person in NCAA history, for any division, to win a national team championship as a coach and player. He did the former with Emory University in 2003, the first in school history, and the latter with California-Santa Cruz in 1989.

Browning, who had been head coach at two other NCAA Division III institutions, was appointed the head coach at Emory University in the summer of 1999.  In each his 22 seasons at Emory, Browning’s teams have advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals while finishing in the top-five in the national rankings on 18 occasions. During his tenure at Emory, the school has advanced to semifinals of the national championships on 15 occasions, most recently during the 2021-22 season in which the team were crowned the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive season.

  • Coaches rotate groups throughout the round to observe and evaluate players
  • Coaches allowed to help players with course management, shot selection, green reading, etc
